flickering screen during projection

Hi all. I am having problems with my new vista laptop when connected to a data projector. My laptop (Maxdata eco 4011 IW) has a VIA Chrome9 HC WDDM video card? but when i try to change the screen refrech rate it only gives me the option of 60 hertz. I have tried changing the resolution to see if this then gives me to option but even running on the highest it doesn't. I have contacted maxdata who didnt have any solution but hopefully someone here knows of one or can recommend a driver?

Most LCD screens are engineered to operate at 60 Hz, and this is normal. In that case, it's not possible, or at least not advisable, to run such a screen at a different refresh rate, even if you could. I suspect that you're getting a flicker because the projector is running at a different rate than that of your laptop. You might consider contacting the vendor of the projector to determine whether they have a solution. I don't think you can find a driver to change the laptop graphics card capability, because the way the laptop is working is the way it's made to work. It may be possible that you can find a projector to more closely match the refresh rate of the laptop. Just some thoughts.
