KT400 Vista and Radeon 9600PRO 256 MB AGP
I have installed Vista 32bit, I've got everything to work fine except HW acceleration on my Radeon 9600. Aero is disabled and everything related to graphic is slow.
The Windows Vista score shows 1.0 for both the video tests! An ATI Radeon 9600 should be much faster. To try and fix the problem I have tried installing the current ATI Beta drvs, oficial drvs these install fine but still no acceleration. I've tried removing these and using the windows drivers and reinstalling again. Still no HW acceleration.
I've checked 'dxdiag' and acceleration is disabled for AGP and Direct3D is NOT AVAILABLE
I've done a lot of online searches and can't come up with anything. I know that Radeon 9600 128bit 256 MB AGP is not state of the ART but I am preatty sure that it is strong enough to run Vista Aero interface without problems.Even NV 5200 (AGP) 128 MB wich is much worse card perfom better in Vista on same computer. It looks like it is some kind of strange issue between Via AGP and Catalyst drivers. I've also run the Windows update and none of the updates made a difference.
