Default PCI-PCI Bridge re-install on every cold boot

Hi Andy, I also have a MSI K9VGM-V mainboard and are having the same reinstall Pci on cold boot problem. I have tried searching through the MSI site for the latest bios but could not find it, the liveupdate does not seem to work for me as well. So please could you post the link for the latest bios.
Thanks
Adam

I'm not allowed to do that, you have to have permission for their ftp site.

But if you open up a technical ticket with MSI (http://support.msi.com.tw/?language=eng )then mention this problem then they will send you the link to the latest BIOS themselves.

Default PCI-PCI Bridge re-install on every cold boot

Thanks Andy, I'm in the process of doing that right now. In fact they just asked me for my ERP number which is on the first pci slot, and my chipset driver version. So hopefully my problem will be resolved soon.
thanks
Adam

Hopefully. BIOS .154 and above will fix this error. If they ask you for more information copy the email Pitr52 received from his contact at Microsoft (this is a few pages back) and include that. They should recognise it!!!

MSI gave me the latest 4 in 1 chipset drivers to install, and it has solved the problem. No need to update the bios.
Thanks for your help

OK - that's good.

But I don't think the drivers alone will cure the fault, unless VIA have added something into them! Give it a couple of days and I'll guess the problem re-occurs!

This graphics corruption mainly occurs during the UAC alerts and startup/shutdown, so isn't a major hinderance and one I'm prepared to put up with!
Same problem here :

Am I right in thinking there is no solution as yet ? Do Via/nVidia even know about this issue ?

Nvidia forum is full with this issues ,maybe sometime after years the problem will be solved. Some of the users reported that older video drivers may not show this issue.Use the Nvidia chipset drivers that come with Vista don t update them. Here is the link for more issues:http://forums.nvidia.com/index...howtopic=27043&st=1120

For the MSI K9VGM-V motherboard, MSI have released BIOS version 1.6 which includes this fix.

Finding where to download it manually though can be tricky!
