Hi!

The 158.18 drivers have the issue as well. I have filed a report with NVidia...

Nvidia's 97.46 works great.. but opengl support is pretty crappy with those.

Would be great to benefit from the optimized drivers instad of beeing stuck with months old.

As I told Asrock, why don't you just build up a rig with this chipset and try it yourself, with any Nvidia AGP card?

Did any of you install VIA's Hyperion drivers just out of interest? Also what is your computer experience index base score?

My indexes are as follows:

Processor: 4.8
Memory: 4.7
Graphics 3.6
Gaming graphics: 4.2
Primary Hard disk: 5.5

(The scores of 3.6 and 4.2 are typical for an AGP 7600GS card and are exactly the same as I got when I put the card in another Vista computer running an Intel chipset, so they seem to be ok...)

I know this is a pain but I would clean install Vista, update it then install the 158.18 drivers. Also are systems that are playing up using SATA or ATA controllers?

Sorry I don't have an answer for this problem, I will continue to look.

Won't help. I have the issue on a clean install. Vista installed from scratch, patched with latest windows update, Hyperion 5.11a added, followed by NVidias latest offering... Same issue....

My system is using only (P)-ATA disks.

I just reinstalled and the same issue still...

My indexes are:

CPU: 4,8
RAM: 5,1
Graphics: 5,9
Gaming graphics: 5,1
Primary harddrive: 4,5

Too bad we can't get confirmation on this issue from either Nvidia or Asrock. Someone needs to seriously look into this matter. With more people upgrading to Vista (with similar components) there will be chaos.

Several applications can't handle Aero and will disable it upon start, since it will conflict with the application's own rendering. 3D Studio MAX, Supreme Commander, and several other graphics applications to mention a few. This is not something that can be patched away without re-writing the entire application, so it's very unlikely any patches for this will arrive.

The only solution is to let Vista run it with Aero disabled. Which cannot be done with PT880 chip and AGP card.

No one seem to take responsibility for this, Asrock suggests running with 97.46 drivers ( L O L ? ), Nvidia wont say a thing.

Overall - this sucks.

Customersupport ffs.

At least we get responses on this forum, cred for that.
