Default dual monitor problem

Hi, i'm running the last video driver for CN700 (22.00.02v) and i've installed the file "Embedded_wIShld".

When i try to setup the 2nd monitor and extend desktop on it, Windows desktop doesn't appear on next boot and after some minutes the pc auto restart and return to the previous settings.

What can i do to have the 2nd monitor functioning??

I'm using Windows Xp on my motherboard Jetway 7F2WE1G3 with VIA chipset!

Regards

Akrasiel

Check in the bios and look for support for Dual monitors. How are you connecting up the monitors?

Best and by far the easiest solution? Buy an add in video card. Chris.

I can't install another vga card because i don't have enough space, the mb is in a carpc, so you could understand i don't have the possibility to use a vga card on it.

It's really good that on VIA forum i get answered to buy another card, so why they say that CN700 support dual monitor, while instead it doesn't do it?? Because they want people to buy their cards??

Finally i can setup the 2nd monitor (using the video RCA onboard) and it works, but i can do it only 1 time, because after restarting my pc windows doesn't see 2nd monitor, and if i try to set it up another time it seems that it isn't connected to the motherboard...

What can i do?

This is the TK Arena Forum, altho we provide "official" VIA support, we are not VIA. I was just being honest when I made my suggestion.

You didn't indicate this was a Car PC. With that in mind, I have suggested to several others a possible solution regarding the use of the RCA video connection from the board: you need to install a 75 ohm resistor load across the terminals, either by using an adaptor, or installing a resistor yourself if you are good at soldering.

With the 75 ohm load, the BIOS will see the extra hookup and will enable that output. Chris.

In the manual there is an option of CRT, TV and CRT/TV in the bios. Give it a try.

Today i made new attempts, reading on forum i noticed that as boyblue said, there is a setting in bios where user can choose the right monitor connected to the motherboard.

The possibility are various, crt, lcd,tv,crt+lcd, crt+tv etc...

I've tried all! But when i choose only crt, i view only on the monitor (VGA), when i choose TV i view only on the TV (RCA), when i choose CRT+TV finally i view on both monitor and tv, but i view the same thing, so i can't extend desktop on tv and so i can't use tv as second monitor (as i want to do...)

Now the only thing i can do is try to use the resistor hoping that could work with it.

Is this my last possiblity to have dualmonitor with integrated via graphics? I think is only a problem linked to driver, dual monitor support must be considered well from via.
