Default VIA/S3G Unichrome Pro IGP for ASrock Mainboard

I've been looking all over for the latest drivers for my onboard VIA/S3G display adapter. Bios version is 98.90.00.05 [4/22/2005].

We recently upgraded to an LCD screen (433mm x 271mm) and I'm afraid the aspect ratio for this screen does not work very well on 1280x1024 because the fonts are blocky (as if they are stretched out of proportion). The onboard adapter does not support 1440x900 (which is the optimal resolution @ 60Hz (and changing the refresh rate on 1280x1024 does not help either).

Will a driver update resolve my problem or should I flash my BIOS? If I have to flash my BIOS I'll rather get myself an external video card.

Here is the info from Sandra, any help will be sincerely appreciated, thanks:

Sorry, I actually meant changing it to 75Hz on 1280x1024 does not help. I also forgot to mention that I'm looking for Windows XP drivers (still not ready to make the shift to Vista ).

New drivers will not add resolutions that are not enabled by the board's BIOS. So you will need a custom BIOS from Asrock to get the resolution that you want.

Looks like you will be needing a video card. Chris.

Thanks Chris. I had a feeling a new card was inevitable.
