e-Geforce Fx5200 agp card not recognized?!
I'm trying to install this 8x AGP card to the 4x AGP slot of ECS P4VMM2 motherboard with VIA VT8751(P4M266)/VT8233 chipsets. There is no signal coming out of this card to the monitor. The on-board integrated card works, a few old AGP card also works on that slot. I talked to eVGA guys and they said the video card should back-compatable with the 4x AGP slot. Then I was told that the video card follows AGP 3.0 standard, but the AGP slot is AGP 2.0 standard. So I installed the via_4in1_443v driver in which the AGP driver has a description of "AGP 3.0 supported". Unfortunately, the problem still remains the same.
Is there other things I need to try before giving up the hope to get a better video card to work on this old computer?
Thanks in advance.

Even tho you installed a driver that has support for AGP 3.0, your hardware is only AGP 2.0. Software cannot fix the hardware.
But, I see no reason that the FX 5200 shouldn't work in that board. Have you tried that "new" card in another PC to see if the card is good? Chris.

Any updates to the BIOS will have to be from ECS, as they are the ones that wrote the BIOS for the board. You could give it a shot, but if you have never flashed a BIOS before, be very careful. Chris.
