Default error signature

I am currently running windows XP, when I play WinAmp or Windows Player my computer crashes. I then get serious error occurred

Error Signature :

There should also be a "STOP: 0X000000something" code, post that and we'll go from there. But this is more than likely a RAM memory error. Please post the maker and model of your mainboard, what processor and how much RAM you are running. Chris.

I am using motherboard :
Intel Penthium III 1.13Ghz
SDRAM 256
Harddisk 20 Gb
VGA onboard with chipset S3 via cle266.

Wow. 256Mb of RAM? Are you running XP? I think an upgrade is needed, I suggest at least 512Mb, 1Gb is better. That should fix the errors you are getting, there just isn't enough memory to run the programs you want to run. Chris.
