Argumn is on a distinguished road
Default VIA Crome9 HC IGP install Error "-31" (log attached)

I bought an ASUS Barebone V-Series 3 M2V8900 (K8M8900) which has a VIA Chrome9 HC IGP Onboard graphics chip.

I installed the chipset driver and then tried to install the vga driver. this failed with the error code -31.

Is there any BIOS configuration that could be wrong? I assigned 256 mb memory to vga (also aperture) and my system still does not recognize the vga. It does not appear under Device Manager nor do i see anything while being on the advanced tab from the view panel

I also tried new patches but no luck :/

You mean K8M890? There is no K8M8900. Is this the driver you are trying to install: VIA Arena - Display Drivers

The only setting in BIOS that might be wrong is the "Init display First" this should be set for the onboard, and not the slot for a add in card (PCI-E) Chris.
