Are you using the onboard video? How much of the system RAM is allocated to the onboard? You may need to push that up to max and add another 1Gb of RAM to get this to work correctly. Chris.

What chipset, video, audio, drivers you running?

Both IDE and OnBoard Video run through the Southbridge chip. But so do the USB, Ethernet, Audio, PS/2, Serial, Parallel, etc. If you have the no or incorrect chipset drivers, XP will revert to compatible ones that will only do so much (Like 'limp mode' in a car).

Failing everything else, the board is bad.

im running all the updated drivers.
it is a car pc
i have 4 usb ports all are used up
one is for touch screen
one is for sirius sat radio
one is for bluetooth
one is to a usb hub the hub is running a dvd ram drive and the wifi

i sense no problems from anything else??

am i overloading the south bridge?
but that does not make sense when i was bench testing i had no other periphrials and i had a ide dvd drive and still had problem
even before i updated drivers and even with the last windows install

i just might need mor cpu power but i thought the m10000g could handle this.

ok check this out!
when i run nero dvd recoder i can watch the dvd on the programs dvd playback mode with absolutly no hiccups! this is after 5 minutes of the program recoding the dvd to mpeg2

but after i save it to the hd it stutters as usual

ok, remember this is not nero showtime but a utility to compress dvd's.
really strange. i also ran the pc in safe mode with as little running as possible stutters and stutters

thanks for the help
