ATI HD 2600 Pro shows texture corruption in Windows XP, but not Vista....
I have an ATI HD 2600 Pro and anytime I run a 3d application in Windows XP I have horrible texture corruption. It's as if it misplaces textures and duplicates them, the 3d models are ok, if that makes sense. This problem only happens in XP, Vista runs perfect. I think I have narrowed it down to an AGP driver issue. The only thing that changes the image is the VIA chipset driver. The corruption remains, but looks different. I have installed a fresh copy of Windows XP with only the agp driver, video driver and directx installed. Everything is up to date, newest BIOS, latest video drivers (even tried 7.9 beta). I have tried several VIA Hyperion drivers with no success. My hardware meets all of the requirements and it still corrupts. My motherboard is a Gigabyte 7VAXP Ultra KT400 chipset. Is there an incompatibility with the ATI HD 2600 Pro and the VIA KT400 chipset drivers (possibly a directx 10 card issue?)? This card works fine in another machine running Windows XP and on my machine with Vista so I know this is NOT a hardware conflict. I am stuck, any ideas?
