1440x900 resolution w/ Unichrome IGP KM400 / KN400
Hi all,
I'm a newbie to this so pls be gentle! I have read the previous posts about problems regarding widescreen resolution settings, I would like to know how to start fixing my problem starting from scratch. I have a:
VIA/SG3 UniChrome IGP (KM400, KN400)
and would like to set it to work with my widescreen SyncMaster 940BW
I have downloaded and installed the latest driver here:
http://www.viaarena.com/defaul...atID=1160&SubCatID=102
Text
Without much luck, the aspect ratio and text is still either blurry or stretched on each of the various resolution settings listed in the "display properties". How do i set it to the monitor's optimal resolution of 1440 x 900, is this even possible?
Now from what i have read, I may have to get a BIOS update for this, I have no clue what this means...
Any help would be much appreciated (perhaps in a step by step format ). Pls help!! Im pulling my hair out looking at a brand new (blurry) screen!
Thx!

that resolution is not supported by your on board graphics. You will need an add on video card that supports that resolution, which most do these days.

Hmm, if I was wrong I apologize. I was sure I had read somewhere that the resolution stated was not supported by the on board graphics mentioned. My bad!

1440x900 resolution w/ Unichrome IGP KM400 / KN400
Hi
I have a similar problem with VIA/SG3 UniChrome IGP (KM400, KN400).
I cannot play "Flight Simulator X" because the driver I have currently installed, is not supported.
I have downloaded and installed the latest driver from the same page as Alvin_Lee_Art, but it still doesn't
work.
Does anyone have a suggestion???
Thanks for the help!

Alvin_lee_art, you need to go to the maker of your Mainboard and ask them for an updated BIOS to support that resolution.
Mckenzie, your onboard graphics will not run FSX. You will need to get an add-in video card. No driver will fix this. Sorry. Chris.

OR switch to Linux OR persuade VIA to release drivers that aren't BIOS dependent. Just thought I'd get those in before you know who.
