Default someone help! i have hardware conflicts!

the problem i'm having is with my radeon 9200 128mb ddr pci vid card. it causes conflicts with my hard drive that not only corrupts it, it doesnt leave any mobility to correct the problem for me. (at least what i can see) the problem i'm having is during a clean install, it wont let mecopy the winxp installation files, either it gives me a bluescreen telling me "disable bios shadowing/cacheing" or "something something, hard drive" (sorry for the vagueness) it says my winxp disc may be damaged, or i dont have enough memory but these arent true, i was wondering if anyone can resolve this conflict without having an os . maybe show me a way to install the new via drivers through dos or something. please help me! lol i'm new to radeon, and its taking away from the experiance having hardware conflicts this early in the game.
thank you -shock-

You probably have a hardware mis-configuration, drives set or jumpered wrong. Optical drives with the wrong cable, maybe bad memory, try running memtest. Memory in the wrong slots. Start over with 1 HD, 1 optical drive, 1 stick of memory and 1 floppy drive. Set each drive as a master, one on each IDE controller. You might also try the card in a different slot, the slots share IRQ with the other hardware on the board, that info should be in your manual.
Good luck
