Unable to remove 4in1 from system

After getting the 1612 error message and reading in the posts about its difficulties, I attempted to remove the file.

However, the attempt was denied with the message that it was in use. This turns up even in 'Save Mode'.

Is this the update from heck ? (forum rules about vulgarity)

If you got the 1612 error message, then the drivers didn't update. So you are still running on whatever drivers were previously installed.

Since Windows needs the drivers to run your chipset, it won't let you uninstall them. Without chipset drivers, you would really be up a creek.

What is the current version of drivers and what were you trying to update to, and why? Chris.

The driver: VIA CPU to AGP 2.0/ABP3.0 Controller

The version: 5.1.0.3442

The reason: driver update service said there was a new one

The excuse: I fix things without thinking about it

Version: 5.1.0.3442 is the last AGP driver that VIA will ever make. Driver Update is wrong. Chris.
