someone has problem with Sapphire AGP 3850 with VIA 8237
hello
maybe the moderator of this forum could please say to me if any sort of incompatibility exist between a chipset VIA 8237 based motherboard (Asus A8V)and a AGP graphic card like the ATI 3850 AGP.

ATI cards and VIA chipset boards have always had issues, but it's not really to do with being compatable.
What is the problem that "someone" is having? Chris.

Yeah I seem to have issues with this as well. I just bought a VB7002 with that chipset. What I noticed is that I get better performance with the onboard IGP than I do with a PCIE ATI 3450. Is there a issue with ATIs drivers or the hardware aspect of it?

ATI's drivers seem to have a lot of issues lately, as do the 38xx series of cards in general. ATI released a lot of new hardware this year, and the software is very slow to catch up.
What does the Catalyst Control Center say? Do you have AGP 8x? Try disabling Fast Writes, and if there is a setting for it, increase the AGP voltage to 1.7 volts (this would be a setting in BIOS) Chris.
