Default Hyperion 5.20a
Can't get these drivers to install. They were released today (8/12/08). I get an error message, 1628: Failed to install driver. Then if I try click setup.exe again, I get this message before I get to the install screen... 1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime.

Anyone else having this problem?

What version of Windows? Do you have all the current updates? Chris.

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem (error message: 1628)!

The error is only for version 5.20.
Version 5.18 has no errors!


My system:

Vista SP1
Asrock 4CoreDual-VSTA (BIOS 2.33c)
Geforce 8600GT (Forceware 177.83)

Same problem here. Happens at installation of standalone Falcon driver 2.60A, too...

Tried to update SATA driver in device manager, seems to work but results in a BSOD at reboot (0x0000007B...). Needed to use Acronis True Image after that to restore my drive C...

O.K., I have said this several times to other folks, USE THE VERSION THAT WORKS, 5.17.

Only thing that has been updated is the Falcon storage drivers, which you probably don't want because they are buggy as heck.

NOTHING ELSE HAS CHANGED IN THE NEW DRIVERS EXCEPT THE FALCON STORAGE. USE OLDER 5.17 HYPERIONS.

Save yourselves the headache. Chris.

Same error too 1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime.

Afther retry i got this error 1628: Failed to install driver.

Registry clean up Back to 5.18a.

I have 4CoreDual-VSTA
XP SP3
and WD Raptor 150 gig sata.

I have still HyperionPro package version 5.15A. Should i upgrade? I have XP SP2.

I do not recommend anything newer than 5.17. If what you have now is working, don't mess with it. Chris.

Thanks Chris. I just wonder that should i use these Hyperion drivers, that are listed on the EpoX site?

Welcome to EPoX International, Inc. Home of EPoX Products in the USA and Canada.

Click the 'Driver' circle and then OK. It says VIA Hyperion 4in1 drivers v4.51. Should i use those or is it just outdated information?
