When trying to install new drivers for my KT600 A, I get a message saying 1612 cannot access the source file or you do not have permission, or something to that effect. What am I doing wrong? I unzip to a folder and run setup, and I've even tried to unzip to my c:/ drive to run but no luck. Sorry I'm a n00b. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Which version of Windows? If it's XP do you have Service Pack 2? And are you logged in as Administrator? What driver is this and where did you download it from? Chris.

Windows XP with sp3 installed. I was downloading the newest driver 5.18a I think from the VIA Arena chipset drivers. That may be too current of a driver perhaps, my system isn't up to date. I'm still running a Elite group via kt600 a chipset. AMD athlon 3200+ with 3 gigs of ram. I'm logged in with administrator permissions, but i have tried to run logged in as adminsitrator. I even unzipped straight to my c drive but still get the 1612 message. If the latest driver isn't the version I need can you please suggest the latest for my computer.

I would just use the VIA drivers that come with XP for that board, not the newest Hyperions. There are some issues with the new drivers.
Why are you updating drivers? If the PC is running good, I usually tell people, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Chris.

A lot of my programs are running 100% of my cpu processes. Been updateing drivers hopeing to fix that. So in essence my computer isn't running the way it was. Just a means to an end I suppose. I ran the driver detective software from a sponcer on the via arena site and those drivers were next in line. Thanks I may leave it like it is and move on to something else. My process problem seams to be sound based I've discovered.
