Fiona, could you clarify couple of things.

1. the link to release note under Hyperion drivers is always dea. See http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx...D=1&CatID=1070

left link "release note" is dead.

2. on the download page for Falcon driver 2.51a, there's link to release note. However, that release note is much older and only mentions versions up to 2.10a.

3. In various places there are various explanations of the drivers, some older, some newer. It would be nice to review and update them to the current state. For example, the page
http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx...&ArticleID=467 says: "At the current time, the VIA Hyperion Pro driver contains the VIA PATA/SATA IDE driver Package and the V-RAID driver. The next version of the VIA Hyperion Pro driver will include the VIA IDE Falcon Storage driver and the V-RAID driver." - if I understand correctly, this has already happened some time ago.

4. The Hyperion installation itself - even though it's installed, it does not appear in add/remove programs, can't be uninstalled, can't be repaired... is that all by design?

5. how to verify that every driver that needed to be installed, has installed?

Changelogs are always a bit of a puzzle. I usually check the zip archives of the Hyperion and the Falcon.

There should be a Via Platform Manager in the list of installed software on your system.
