Exclamation DEP prevents correct uninstall

Hi!

I wanted to uninstall the current Hyperion Pro 5.17a in order to reinstall the previous 5.15a package. During the uninstall procedure Windows XP brought some error messages related to DEP (Data Execution Prevention), which is activated in my environment. Afterwards the program quit, leaving some running MS Installer tasks behind (could be seen in the task manager).

I wanted to restart the system, but then Windows XP brought a BSOD right after starting the boot process. I had to make a repair installation of Win XP.

The uninstall issue also happened on an indipendent parallel installation of Windows XP on the same system.

My system specs:
Asus A7V880 (chipset KT880)
Athlon XP 2500+
Windows XP Professional SP3

Has anyone else made a similar experience with uninstall and DEP enabled? However, see this report as a hint for a possible bug.

Greetings
Phant
