VIA PCI to PCI Controller problem
I just installed 4GB RAM in my ECS PT890T-A Motherboard. First, in BIOS it only recognizes 3GB Memory.
Then when I booted into Windows XP Pro SP2 I got a warning message from ATI saying my Graphics Card was not installed or the driver was not working. I have an ATI HD3650. I checked in Device Manager and no graphics card was listed at all.
There was an exclamation point by one of the two entries for VIA PCI to PCI Controller. Clicking on this showed a Code 12 error- Not enough resources to run this device.
I'm assuming this has to do with the extra RAM interfering with the normal place where the controller maps its memory address. I would have thought there would be a way around it. I tried to update BIOS from the ECS website but I got an error stating the flash program did not recognize the ROM ID.
Memtest showed no problems with the memory. Any help would be appreciated!
