BSOD on viaagp1.sys
I have an eMachines t2200 here in the shop. It has:
XP Home SP1, 512 MB DDR, an Athlon XP 2200+ and the via chipset, including integrated video.
On boot, it gets to the Windows splash screen, then just as it should change resolution to display the welcome screen, it BSODs with a page fault error, indicating that viaapg1.sys is the culprit.
The machine will not boot into safe mode.
I tried replacing the viaagp1.sys file in case it was corrupted. Same symptoms.
Then I tried actually renaming the file so that the system couldn't find it on boot. At that point, the machine will boot into Windows, however, the graphics appear slightly distorted.
Should I try reloading the 4-in-1 driver set? Is viaagp1.sys even part of that set in the first place?
Any other thoughts?
Thanks!
