Hello, this is my first post. I have made everything possible until I found this forum. Thanks for your existence!

Everything started because I had the same problem like Jonathan Strange but with a Samsung 160Gb running in PIO mode (although DMA is working fine in another
partition in the same PC). So I tried to upgrade VIA Hyperion 4in1 drivers. Everything seemed to be ok until the Hardware Wizard says (sorry for my translation, my
language is spanish):
There was a problem installing device "hdc".
The driver was not thought for this plattform.
Then I had 3 items under IDE/ATA/ATAPI drivers
(1 ok and 2 with exclamation logos)
Driver principal of bus VIA (ok)
Unknown device (!)
Unknown device (!)
Well, that was nothing... since then everything went worse.
I tried to unistall and I couldn't uninstall drivers. I mean, I can unistall drivers but after i reboot my pc hangs and shows me this error code:
0x0000007B (0xF7C05528,0xc00000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)
. The temporal solution I found was to restart with the last known good configuration and yes... it starts upgrading drivers by itself... so when I reboot it hangs again... and
so on...
