Default VT8233

Hi all,

Will the Hyperion 4in1 drivers work for VT8233 chipset. I mean will i be able to make use of integrated graphics.

I have lost the driver cd shipped with my motherboard.

Some how you guys just don't seem to be able to grasp the concept of a "chipset". A chipset consists of 2 chips (that is why it is called a "chip set"), of these two chips a VT8233 is only one, the other one located under the heatsink beside the processor.
Typically a VT8233 is what is called the "south bridge" (or bottom most chip of the chip set) when paired with another chip (what is called the north bridge, or the one under the heatsink) it would make up either a KM266,KM400,KT333 (AMD Processor), or a P4M266, Apollo Pro (Intel Processor).

Ok so now we have explained "chipset".

Will the Hyperion 4in1 drivers work for VT8233 chipset.

Any chipset that has a VT8233 for a south bridge will not benifit from the newest VIA drivers, if running XP the default XP drivers should be fine.

will i be able to make use of integrated graphics

You are confusing chipset drivers with video drivers, they are not one and the same. Video, or at least intergrated video, is controlled by the chip, of the chipset, you have not identified (probably because you can't see it under the heatsink). What you would do in this case is identify your motherboard and look it up to see what video driver is required.
How you would do this is explained here:

Stultify,

Your responses are again becoming abrasive, arrogant, and unhelpful. This is not the place for people who have no patience or tolerance for those who need assistance because their technical competence is low. Helping such persons is why the forum exists. If a lack of technical competence rubs you the wrong way, you have no obligation to reply or respond. Its not as though you're getting paid by the post count or something. Just pass them by.

tcsenter:

As a topic "header" in each, and EVERY area, someone took the time and trouble to make the request for a minimum level of information so that help can be offered in a reasonable, reliable, fashon. I will paste and copy the request here just in case you might have forgotten:

To get help, it is ESSENTIAL that you provide your full system configuration. This should include:

CPU type and speed
Motherboard make and model
Chipset
Video card or integrated graphics solution
RAM, amount and speed
Operating system and service packs
video card driver version (installed)
VIA 4in1 Hyperion driver version (installed)

Now, both you and I know that about 1/2 of this stuff is necessary, but it would be "nice" if an attempt (let's call it "good faith") was made. Taking the side off of a computer and writing down the first number that comes to hand does not qualify as an attempt to identify hardware, writing down the licence number of a passing car would be just as effective, and probably easier.

Your responses are again becoming abrasive, arrogant, and unhelpful

I apologise if anyone finds me abrasive and arrogant. Unhelpful, well I did put the person on the trail to properly identifying what they have, and I explained a computer concept, or two, so you don't "get" unhelpful!

Have a "nice" day.

I was also referring to your response here:

It doesn't work like that.
And your final reply in that topic is patronizing, to put it mildly

Here you go, let's try this one:

If someone were to say to me "it hurts when I hit my hand with a hammer", I am naturally going to respond: "don't hit your hand with a hammer".

If someone says: "my computer (of unknown specs) won't start when I insert something into it", I am naturally going to respond: "don't insert something into it".

This whole "forum thing" relies on a basic level of common sense, when there is none in evidence unfortunately I am the wrong person to try and inject some when there is NONE. I will ALWAYS try to give a stupid answer to a stupid question, call it a character flaw, if you like.

Continue to have a nice day!

Actually, the old stand-up joke goes something like "So this guy says to his doctor, 'Doc, it hurts when I do this (makes a motion with his arm), what can I do about the pain? The doctor replied, 'Don't do that (mimics the motion), that'll be $75.00.'"

Of course, if you see any parallel between a person admitting to some extreme self-injury behavior and a person not knowing technical details about their computer hardware, then you have bigger problems than I thought.

Let me splain it for ya. A majority of the population doesn't possess much technical competence about the internals of their computers. If they did, you and I would have to find something else to do with our free time, because computer help forums such as this would see as much business as an ice salesmen in Antarctica.

However, some number hugely less than a majority of the population would fail to grasp the underlying cause of their pain after whacking themselves with a hammer.

But perhaps the biggest difference between your analogy and reality is that, advising someone not to hit themselves with a hammer would indeed solve their problem, something you rarely do for people seeking help on the forum between your alternatingly sarcastic and derisive comments.
