Problems with VIA_HyperionPro_V510A installation

I installed an ATI graphics card RADEON 7000.But, I cannot see the display tabs in NORMAL mode.I followed the steps in an earlier post to delete all drivers installed earlier with http://www.drivercleaner.net/ . Then , in SAFE mode installed the AGP drivers for the mother board.All the tabs on the DISPLAY properties are now visible in SAFE mode.But when I reboot to install the drivers for the ATI card, I cannot see ANY of the tabs in the DISPLAY properties in NORMAL mode.

Can you please help ? Details of other hardware are below.

For that video card, I would recommend the 6.4 ATI drivers.

Apologies for the double post.Dont know how that happenned.

I will download the drivers from ATI.But the version available to me on registration of my card is 6.11 . Where can I get 6.4 from?

Apart fromt eh driver for the AGP card, is there not a problem on the MoBo that I have to sort out first? The display tabs are missing in NORMAL mode.But can see them all in SAFE MODE .

Ooops.Sorry.Got the 6.4 version from ATI.COM. But the one available from the site is 6.11.Although I could get 6.4 now.Do you still think 6.4 is better ?

6.11 does not support your graphics card model. The last driver to support Radeon 7000 was 6.5, but there seems to be a problem between 6.5 drivers and KT400 chipset, so ATI advises to use 6.4 instead.

i got K7VT4A+ mother broad and via KT400A chipset i downloaded driver detective and it said that via cpu to AGP 2.0/AGP3.0 CONTROLLER was out of date so i checked it.and it said the DRIVER DATE WAS 27/12/2002 AND driver verision was 5.1.0.3441 so i downloaded the via hypro 510a and installed it.but when i check it it still says the same date that was there allready.so can you tell me the one i need to install. the 2002 is will out of date any help would be greatfull.

1 more thing i got a saphire radeon x1650pro 256mb gddr3 memory could you tell me whats the best catalyst to use with my motherborad. i got 6.8 catalyst installed what came with the graphics card.
