Graphic card doesn't start after reboot
Hi,
i had a motherboard KT4V with a SAPPHYRE RADEON 9600SE who worked properly since 2 Years. Six month ago, i updated the via driver to 4in1 4.55 and updated windows Xp home edition Sp1 to XP SP2.
I iinstalled the latest catalyst driver to for the ATI video card.
After that, the ATI RADEON never start anymore. Everything looklike allright, the computer's working not to bad, but i can't see video and i can't play 3D video game.
I tried everything except removing windows XPSP2.
I bought a geforce 7300gt nvidia video card, this card doesn't start to. i installed the latest 4in1 hyperion but i cannot. an error message occured about the file "agpdrvNT.dll"
nothing change.
I have a new flat screen 16/10 and i cannot change the resolution for it ...
PLEASE WHAT CAN I DO ???
(i cannot format my hard disk because this computer is the server and i have all my job on it).
Sorry for my bad inglish

Graphic card doesn't start after reboot
Did you deinstall the ATI Catalyst drivers before installing the NVIDIA drivers?
Try using the XP SP 2 AGP driver. It is a universal AGP driver also known as UGAP35.sys.
Go to Device Manager --> System Devices --> Select the AGP controller --> Click right and choose Properties --> Driver --> Choose update driver --> Choose not to go to the Microsoft update site --> Select option to choose yourself --> Select don't search I will determine what to use --> Choose the VIA CPU to AGP controller.
AFtter reboot check for the used AGP driver in Device Manager. Look under Driver details in the Properties of the CPU to AGP controller. It should say UAGP35.sys.

Graphic card doesn't start after reboot
Thank you EricJH
I tried to replace VIA CPU to AGP 2.0/3.0 by CPU to AGP controller but this driver doesn't appear on the list. On the standard system list, i only have PCI bridge to PCI Standard PCI. But in VIA LIST i have VIA CPU to AGP controler. I tested this one but i still have the same problem.
For sure, the system and the graphic card are working perfectly after reinstalling the nvidia drivers until i restart the computer. If i still worki without restarting the computer, my computer is working properly all the day.
It' seems like Windows prefer associate a bad driver to my graphic card.
An other information, each time i install the VIA drivers, a window tells me to put the windows XP SP2 CD because the computer needs pnpisa.dll file. And each time i show them the way to system32\drivers.
Is it a good think?

It sounds like your XP upgrade didn't get all the files. Put the upgrade CD back in and Windows will as what you want to do? Select Repair this Installation of Windows. Post back with how it goes. Chris.

Graphic card doesn't start after reboot
Just popped in my mind. There are issues with KT 400 based motherboards and the latest sets of Catalyst drivers. Go back to the Catalyst 6.4. Read this thread about it: http://forums.viaarena.com/mes...atid=31&threadid=73601 .
I should have thought about this before...
