Enter your BIOS and double-check your Hardware Monitor to make sure that your CPU fan is running and what rpm it's at as well as what temps are being reported. It sounds like maybe you bumped off the 3-pin CPU Fan Connector and that might be the reason why? you are getting this error message.

Saphire I had the same error for a few months back in May and then it disappeared. I noticed as soon as I made the change in the Bios that error came up being the same as I had before.
Well, my sound card was in the very last slot at the bottom of the case and I did notice if I had touched anything else.
I thought the Bios update worked well, explorer.exe doesn't hang everytime I restart. I can actually restart without shutting down every icon in my tray and having it hang. The system seems more stable instead of sloppy.
Okay, here is what I found when I checked the Hardware Moitor in the Bios.
Fan Speed 2040-2070 rpm
CPU Temp- 48* C/ 118* F
MB Temp- 29* C/ 84* F
CPU Fan Speed- N/A
Chassis Fan Speed N/A
CPU Q-Fan Control- Disabled
Chassis Q-Fan Control- Disabled
VCORE Voltage- 1.552V
3.3V Voltage- 3.312V
5V Voltage- 5.107V
12V Voltage-12.160V

If after examing all of your connections you still are getting errors then the BIOS that you flashed to might be corrupt or no good and you can try flashing to an earlier BIOS using the EZ Flash method and renaming the BIOS that you are flashing to from the floppy to A8V.ROM as I mentioned before...
|
Wow, you really think it could be corrupt, ha. When I flashed it I disabled all security programs so there would be no interference. This update was dated October 2006 for the A8V Deluxe and has been tested with these systems before they will put it out for consumer use. Just puzzles me.

After you hit F1 to continue and the ASUS BIOS logo dissappeared and the text in the upper left hand corner for the VIA RAID BIOS appeared did you hit the TAB key and enter that BIOS (not to be confused with your System BIOS) and create and setup your array ?

The system goes through it's normal booting sequence, but before I can actually get into windows I have to hit the F1 for the CPU Fan Error, then it procedes as normal.
Some how I missed the driver for the CPU, so I went to the AMD site and d/l the CPU and the dual core you mentioned. It installed fine. Acually, everything went good except for the rotten sound card. What a PITA.
Saphire, thank you so much for guiding a lamen like me, I would've never been able to do it with out your help. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Thank goodness for folk like you, I am forever truly grateful. I feel like I'm out of Alienwares clutches, now.
