BSOD at Boot.
Chunko, actually it was caused by trying to rum 4 sticks of RAM in an MSI PT880 P4 mainboard that had
memory controller issues. I gave the board away and got an Abit VT7 ( PT880 ) board which worked like a
dream. Still have it , altho I swapped out the video card and the memory and am running them in my current
AMD rig.
In addition to the STOP: xxxxxxx messages I was also getting " IRQL not less or equal " and a couple others
that I can't remember.
With your system , tho, the memory controller is built into the CPU, so I wouldn't expect a mainboard issue.
And I have had an AMD chip fail , about a month after I bought it. RMA'd to AMD and have yet to see or hear
anything from them, but that chip would'nt even power up.
O.K., so I hope some of this helps with a solution ( but realize that it may just add to the confusion )!!!
Good luck and let us know what works. Chris.

Hi Mr. Chris,
I never get the IRQL not less or equal error. I get the same Stop messege every time.
So you RMA'd a CPU to AMD and they never sent you a replacement?..WTF??

AMD said that because the cpu is an Athlon XP 2400+, which they no longer produce, they are trying to find
" an equivalent or better " replacement, so I just went ahead and bought my current rig ( used, good deal )
and when I do get a CPU will have an extra non-gaming rig.
As for the RMA process, it can't even be done on-line, you have to call and do it all by phone. Good thing I
don't have any other issues wiht AMD, I really like my current rig. Peace! Chris.
