Default Doesn't see floppy drives

Hi,

I recently purchased 12 EPIA-M10000 units. I have discovered that the first 3 I opened don't see the floppy drive attached. I have changed the BIOS to signify that a floppy is attached and the first boot drive is set toi the floppy. Would anyone have any idea what might be going on?

I also have a EPIA-CL10000 that does not even recognize that memory is on the board. The only thing that happens on this board is that the fan spins. The BIOS does not start up at all. I have also tried resetting the CMOS to no avail. Any ideas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

1) maybe the fdc controller isn't enabled. (setting in bios)
2) weird indeed but try another mem stick if available.

Hi,

I confirmed the BIOS being set up correctly and have tried different memory sticks and cabling. Something I did notice is the BIOS versions...they aren't EPIA-M 1.0f it comes up as VBQ400....

Would this be a old version? Maybe this is the problem?

Dave

Just to be painfully specific, did you find the SuperIO or some such entry in the BIOS, hit enter on that entry, and then make sure the floppy controller is enabled? Under SuperIO, it is possible to also enable/disable the IDE controllers, etc. I think VQB400 is a newer BIOS, or at least the same as 10f, having the same myself on my latest Epia M purchases.
