Motherboard does not detect higher ram stuck at 512mb

Hi, i have a PC2500E Mainboard.

according to here.

it can support up to 2gb of ram, my problem is it does not detect above 512mb, i have pulled out the 1 stick of 512mb and put in 2 1gb stick of ram, the problem is, even though i have 2gbs of ram now installed in the pc it is only showing up 512mbs........... i have removed both sticks and tried placing them one at a time in the memory stick slots...... every time it only says i have only 512mbs of ram installed even though i have a 1gb stick in the memory slot, i have no idea what the problem is? is there a bios setting or something i need to change to enable it to go past 512mbs of ram? also when i do go to bios screen all it says is 512mgbs of ram, do i need to update the bios?

What is the make and model of your memory?

I have the same problem with Pico-itx motherboard and with Kingston KVR533D2S4/1G memory.
I tested the memory with my laptop and it's working fine, but not on my via artigo.

Kingston Memory Search says that it will work. Now I noticed that it's not on VIA DRAM qualification vendor list.

Any ideas how to get this to work at full capacity?

E-mail Kingston and ask them what settings will work or you may have to go with whats on the memory list.
