Cool Certified RAM memory manufacturers for EPIA-EK8000EG?

Hi!

I'm having many problems with 1G DDR400 Kingston model:
Hardware not detected, blue screens and so on.

Did anyone find a list of certified RAM memory manufacturers for EPIA-EK8000EG?

Thank you in advance

Default DDR description

Hi, boyblue:

Kingston
99U5193-100.A00LF KVR400X64C3A/1G
3639419-1389459 2.6V.
ASSY IN CHINA (1)

The chips inside the module are:
0820VPR
K58C2512804SAI5

There are 2 blocks of 4 chips on each DDR module side. Total: 16 chips.

But more than knowing why this DDR module doesn't work inside the EPIA-EK8000EG motherboard, I'm interested on a list of certified modules and manufacturers for this motherboard. I must install 40 motherboards with their 40 DDR modules and I'd like buying the correct model.

Thank you in advance

That memory is recommended for your board so have you tried a memory tester programe to try and work out if it is memory or another piece of hardware/software. What operating system are you using? As for a list of cert memory I don't think there is one.

This is about all the info that I could find for that board: VIA EPIA EK-Series Mini-ITX Board - VIA Technologies, Inc. not sure if that helps or not. Chris.

Default EPIA-EK8000EG nightmare

Hi, Boyblue and Chris:

Thank you for your help.

I contacted Via and they sent me a CONFIDENTIAL document so I cannot post it here, but the content is about an internal test with up to 512M DDR400 (why not 1G ?)

The manufacturers they used (only two) are unknown for me.

Other motherboards (not Via) specify several certified memory manufacturers. I don't understand why Via does not.

I use XP embedded (XPe) on a 1G Transcend DOM, but the same problem appears with XP Pro SP2 (here even blue windows).

I have not any hardware memory tester, but these Kingston memories work fine in an Asus Motherboard.

Don't worry, I will try different manufacturers. I've heard Nanya is a good option.

Thank you again for your help!

Although it not an answer but can you use just 512mb of memory or do you need the full gb?

Don't you just hate it when things don't work as they should?

Default 512MB

Hi, boyblue:

Today 512MB is enough, but it is becoming difficult to find 512MB modules, many of our suppliers can only offer us 1G. Also in the future we plan to add certain software features that will need more memory.

Best Regards

Default Other makes of memory

Hi, Boyblue:

Of course, Nanya, Siemens, even unknown manufacturers, low speed units, high speed units, sizes from 256MB to 512MB, but the 1G modules have always been Kingston DDR400, with the same problem.

By the way, I always used double face modules.

Another thing I noticed is the contact hardness. Some modules seem to make "more pressure", others do not. Once I inserted a 256 module whose contact was so light that when I touched it while the mainboard was in use it hanged up. It seems that some manufacturers modules are thiner than others.

Best regards
