Default EK1000G and big hard drive ( long )

Hello,

I use un EK1000G motherboard and un 500GB SATA Hard drive.
I had installed Debian etch on a compact flash and I create partition on the hard drive to store datas.

When I try to format my home partition whith 450GB size, the system do a kernel panic.
When I try to create a big file to an iscitaget ( 80 GB ), the system do a kernel panic.

I try kernel 2.6.18 and 2.5.26 ( backport ) with the same problems.

I try the same things witch a Centos 5.2 live cd and the problem is the same.

If I try to do the same things in my Centos PC ( P4, RAM 1G ) i can format home without problem.

I try to upgrade bios to 1.02 without more success.

I have created a 250GB home partition, and I can format it.
But, the second problem is still here.

Anys suggestion, will be appreciated.
