Unhappy not anylonger booting VIA EPIA SN1800

I was happy with my own webserver based on the EPIA SN1800 until last week. The webserver became unstable and have to rebooted often. Last weekend the reboot doesn't work anylonger.

The situation at this moment is, when i switch on the power, the fans start but the power led is stays off and the screen keeps dark. I've tried the following:
- other power supply
- other memory
- with/without harddisk
- clearing cmos

All with the same results, no error code (in speaker beeping) or something. It is a king of strange, because the webserver was serving me fine for the last 7 months, do you have any suggestions?

Greets,
Pieter

Wow, same story as me. I'm stuck with the problem nearly 2 week. For me, the problem was with the cpu thermal pad. It got damaged somehow.(I touched the heat sink to hard??).Dissembled the heatsink and I discovered that the CPU and Northbridge which share the same heatsink have a different height. They put a thermal pad on the cpu side. I came here because I wonder if anyone else had the same problem(which should happen because of the bad design).

Try check yours(maybe it will void your warranty). I replace mine with Artic Silver thermal paste and I remove the brown barrier at the cpu side to make sure it touch the cpu.

Before I find this, I thought bios was buggy. Have done hundred of bios reset with no luck. Hope it help. Good luck.

p/s: support center s**k they never replied my mail.

My board was/is still under warenty. I brought it back to the shop and he is now in discussion with VIA. It could be indeed the thermal pad, but i build my board in a case in January and it started failing last month...

It looks that the thermal paste they used is not for the long term.
