Default VIA EN15000 OpenGL 2

Hi

I purchased this motherboard about 1 year ago, with all the accessories with it, spent nearly $600US.
For the last year I could not get any type of Home Theatre PC software running on it, as a matter of fact I could not find any use for it!

I am now committed to get some value for my money!
I downloaded XBMC and it requires OpenGL 2.0, can anyone tell me if this is supported on my EN15000? (does not look like it?)

The Monitor I bought native resolution is 1440 X 900 cannot get that working either?

I guess the questions I have is:
1. Does it support the resolition 1440X900?
2. Will it run XBMC?
3. What other media centre software could I use on it?

Thanks

Decoy

Thumbs down Agreed

What happened to the help around here?
I wasted so much time and effort try just to get it to be a desktop running windows (which is the supported os). To this day still wont work.

Default Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 or Ubuntu

Hi Thanks for the response.

I am tried installing Windows XP Pro, when installed there is the two main problems besides the constant stalling when you do something.
1. Always an unknown device in device manager (this is just with the HDD and the board, no other cards or add-ons)
2. VGA Driver never works properly, I am using it on a LG LCD, after hours of research I found out that it wont support 1440X900 under windows xp, but still the graphics cannot even output a DVD video. Which the board should cope with being an MPEG enhanced chipset.

Ubuntu I could not get the LAN working, until now with the latest version of ubuntu. The only issue I have now with ubuntu is the 1900X400 video, its supported and works, but via Frame buffer drivers and that lags.

The reason why I bought this motherboard was to make it an HTPC, none of the media centre software options out there are supported. as mentioned in my previous post.

I would really like to get some use out of the hardware, any advice would be great

Cheers

What memory are you using? What bios settings are there for resolution and when installing Windows what did you have the bios set to.

Default BIOS

There is no place in the BIOS to set the resolution, I have set AGP as my Primary Display and if I set it to LCD it wont start up, So its set to CRT. And I am using a Kingston 1 GB Module.
