VIA EPIA EN15000
Hello together!
Using a new EN15000 board and have the problem that the monitor (at VGA output) doesn't show anything.
When turning on the PC the CPU fan begins to run and all other components (CD-ROM, hard disk) starts, but the monitor doesn't seem to get any signal. I've tested it with minimal configuration: only board (with CPU), RAM (512 MB DDR2-533), mouse and monitor: but no signal. Changing the monitor also doesn't help.
Even if the RAM would be broken (what I don't believe) it should display anything, shouldn't it?
Does anyone have an idea what I've done wrong? Or is my first VIA board just broken?
Is there any jumper that have to be set for VGA output?
Thanks for any help / advertises
Andreas

Try using a different PSU. I had the same problem with my EN15000 board as it did not like the PSU supplied with my Travla C137 mini-ITX case.
As soon as I connected a different PSU it worked perfectly.

Hello!
First, thank you for your replay!
This problem I've solved: it was the RAM; tested with another and it worked (Infineon now).
But I've got another problem now:
I've installed Windows XP Prof. without problem, but after installing the VGA drivers (newest from webpage) it doesn't show anything on the screen anymore. When hitting F8 while booting and choosing use VGA drivers, it displays again, but when booting normal it doesn't. What's the problem with the original VGA onboard drivers?
Thanks for any help again
Andreas

I just installed the drivers off the CD and I have not had any problems with them.
I have updated my boards BIOS to the latest version but I am not aware of any video card driver updates.

Hello Dwyloc!
First thank you for your answer again!
I've tried some BIOS options and now it seems to work, but I'm not sure if it's stable now...
My BIOS version of 1.07 seems to be current.
Thanks anyway again for your reply

I have had the same problem if I start the machine without a monitor connected I have to reset the bios in order to get the monitor back. Any ideas.

I have the same problem with my EN15000, no video. It's a brand new board, with new memory (Centon DDR2-533 5400 512MB). The case and power supply are Silverstone (reputable manufacturer). One of those three things must be faulty. I can get video only by resetting the CMOS manually (where the CPU is then read as 800Mhz), and when I try to load the optimized defaults, the video doesn't work again. Any ideas?

To add to what I just wrote above, I just tested the system with a different PSU (known working) with the same result. That narrows things down to either the RAM or the MB. And, as someone stated earlier, faulty RAM shouldn't affect the appearance of the VGA...

Well...I swapped the RAM out and it worked. From my experience, this board seems quite fickle. Now to install Linux....

Hi
I've just installed my new EN12000 in a Travla C137 120W case and I have the exact same problem as you.
Using another PSU it works fine.
I've almost prepared a return of the case in order to get it repaired, but now I've read your post I'm afraid it won't help.
I've figured out the problem is caused by the Power Good pin which stays at 1.9V while it goes to 3,5V using a std. PC PSU.
Have you found any working solution with the Travla PSU?
I'm thinking of cutting the Power Good signal and connect it to a 5V source in the EN12000 end - anyone who have tryed that?
