WTT: EPIA-V 1ghz for EPIA-5000 or similar (TV out)
Hello everyone,
I purchased my 2nd ITX board and received it today. I was totally excited, as this is for an in-car entertainment setup that I've been planning for 2 years. Everything was going good until I realized that the composite video output is "optional." In this case, this means my board lacks it. I toyed with the idea of dropping the proper components on the board and soldering them in place, but SMT is a PITA so here I come with an offer.
I'm willing to do an even trade of a brand new EPIA-V 1ghz board for a fully working older board with a slower CPU and the composite output. I figure some people using PVR cards probably don't use the composite output, as a PVR card will provide better output over a scan converted VGA signal. Here is your chance to upgrade. Don't care about the fanless factor, 800mhz would be better to me than 500mhz but at this point I'm needy. Don't want to return the board, as restocking fee and hassle kick in.
The EPIA-5000 or similar with the composite output is what I'm looking for. My particular setup will have the motherboard with a PCI riser, connected to a Optibase videplex Xpress card. This will provide MPEG2 decoding in hardware (the optibase cards are great) for all LCDs in the car, with the console output going to a 2nd input on the front LCD... not legal to have "Television" within view of driver in our state.
This trade offer is valid for US citizens only. I will expect the person to ship their board first, but will provide all of my information via email, and I'm listed in the phone book and what not. If your in Virginia I'd be willing to road trip to Richmond. My ebay ID is telmnstr. Will ship UPS/FedEx insured and all of that. My 1st system is at a friends place in California, we used it for video capture at Defcon, and upon it's return it will be used as a development platform for another project (that could lead to the use of hundreds of Mini-ITX boards with TV out).
Email me at telmnstr followed by @ then 757.org if interested. That has been my email address for years.
