VT6212L and Windows 2000 don't work...

Hi, I installed Windows 2000 on my old computer and I cannot make work my USB VT1262L. I installed the driver downloaded here and when I start my computer, it searches two files, the first is usbehci.sys to this one I found it. But the other file, the one that I do not find is usbport.sys.

You can give me a link so that I can download this file.

Did you read the notes about the drivers for this USB chipset?

Do you have Service Pack 4 installed? If so, then you can probably get the needed files/ updates thru Windows Update. Chris.

Yes, I have the Pack 4 and the Pack 5 (complete Pack 4)....

I do not know really any more what to make?

Well, as it says, you can get the drivers "through Windows Update. Alternatively, please contact your motherboard manufacturer or the manufacturer of the USB 2.0 PCI card if you have misplaced their driver CD." You can't get the drivers here. Chris.

Thanks,in fact, it is several times since I communicate with Via technology and they always answer me to go to see in this FORUM to resolve my problems... I am again going to re-try.

Is this an add in USB card, or is this the built in USB ports on the main board? VIA only makes the chips, we do not make the cards or the mother boards. As I said, you need to find the maker of the board and get drivers from there. Or, did you try Windows Update for the drivers? VIA Tech will just tell you the same thing, to come back here for the answers, which I am trying to give you.
