Default PC wont boot with card installed

I came here because I tried to get the computer to boot up with the card installed.
I updated that PC up to service pack 3 on XP.

Still when I put the card in the PC starts but just stays there ... no load in of XP.

I then remove the card and reboot with not problem ...

Am I missing something?

Your system may be freezing up like this because the ESCD info is incorrect and needs to be updated.

Try doing either of the following:
1.) Try to going into the BIOS/CMOS setup [Before Windows tries to load] by pressing DEL, F2, F10, or whatever button it instructs you to push when you power on the PC (during the POST).
1.1) Then find an option the CMOS setup that says something like Reset ESCD or Reset Configuration Data. Set this value to Yes. After you hit Save and Exit, power off the computer and put the card in.
2.) You can also clear this info by finding a jumper or DIP switch on the mainboard that says something like Clear CMOS info.
2.1) Before you change this jumper or toggle that DIP switch, you must power off the computer. You may need to unplug the power cord from the computer on some systems.
2.2) When you move that jumper or toggle that DIP switch, you may have to keep it there for 30 to 60 seconds.
2.3) After you wait the 30 to 60 seconds, put back the jumper or DIP switch to the original position it was. Now you can put the card in the computer and then power it on.

Definitions:
ESCD = Extended System Configuration Data
POST = Power On Self Test
CMOS = Complimentary Metal Oxide
BIOS = Basic Input Output System
