Latest VIA drivers for USB2.0 controllers
(dated OCT 2005).
I have the KM2M Combo-L in my main system, still have two of them new in the box (long story).
So far, I've use the following USB devices extensively through the integrated VT8235 USB controller:
-USB Floppy drive (NEC and HP branded)
-Canon Powershot A40 digicam
-Canon Powershot A75 digicam
-Epson Stylus CX6400 AIW Printer
-Epson Stylus C84 Printer
-HP OfficeJet 7110 AIW Printer
-Microtek Scanmaker C6-USB Scanner
-Generic (Sabrent) USB2.0 Multicard Reader (Alcor Micro chip)
-Generic (Syba) USB2.0 Multicard Reader (ICSI chip)
-Generic 2.5" HDD USB2.0 Enclosure (Myson Century chip)
-Kingston Traveler 512MB US2.0 Flash Drive
-Generic 256MB USB1.1 Flash Drive
-Several USB meeses (generic, Logitech, Microsoft)
-Several USB keyboards (generic, KeyTronic, Microsoft)
The only problems I've had were a couple generic bus-powered USB2.0 hubs I purchased on the cheap. My DLINK 4-port USB2.0 hub with its own power supply works flawlessly, though I rarely use it (its been in my desk drawer for about three months). Also, my USB floppy drive sometimes goes on the blink if I plug it in when my Epson CX6400 is connected, it gets installed as generic removable storage volume instead of a floppy. Unplugging the CX6400 and restarting, then plugging it back in always seems to solve it.
I've used most (but not all) of those on Win98SE, though more extensively on XP.
