Hi Guys,
like soooo many others, I too have a VT6212L based PCI card which I'm attempting to get working on my legacy 500Mhz K6-III+ based mobo.
I followed all of Shinryuu's advice based on P4t's outline.
The USB 2.0 ports seem to be working although my whole PC is running much slower whenever a USB device is plugged in.
Interestingly, if I check the Properties of the 3 USB 2.0 Root Hub in Device Manager, the Manufacturer is listed as 'NEC'...now I thought that's what we were trying to avoid !?!
So I checked the contents of the usb2x.inf file as supplied in WinXP_USB2.zip by P4t at his link
http://www.geocities.com/p4tgb/WinXP_USB2.zip, and low and behold, NEC appears everywhere in this file, without a trace of VIA in sight !
My question...is this usb2x.inf really the correct driver file for the VIA VT6212L chip ????
Thanks for your input. Cheers...Dale
