ha ha no creative thread

i just added my audigy2 zs plat pro to this system. it was on my p4 abit ic7g mobo.. creative has gone down. the new drivers what ever and bloat ware. gees..

i did a complete take apart system clean and re installed xp pro last week. i got a new evga 88 gts ko. so figured id add my audigy. well i installed all on the disc. big mistake being my game rig. too much junk running in the back ground etc.. but.

i up load lots of videos to youtube fps game play videos. the youtube multi up loader googleupdate.exe jammed up and would not delete and then i could not use it anymore. so i nuked the os and re installed it..well creative has new drivers since then..

well my next install. i did custom and did not install some stuff but nothing to worry about.. but creative nutty download installer did not stop and have me reboot what ever and nothing worked. all would crash and get the windows message etc. so i nuked the os and started over..

well this new driver stuff. well before that creative had added a media source 5 player and library and media source dvd audio player and other garbage. and still had the original media source player and library 3 freaken player programs.. but it all worked.. well

yesterday i got it all going and did the updates creative has its new drivers what ever and half the junk dont work. go only a few things on its bar work. the eax console broken eq broken. some stuff you can set what ever in the creative audio console. but not the eq.. but all the players or what ever the heck and their gui's what ever are still seen or are on my computer.. its all muffed up and retarded.. why they can not incorporate all into 1 program media source 50. i dont know and make it all work as before. i liked the way it was before.. any way.

i got it all installed and updated it seems to work after my second re install of windows and deleting and reinstalling my audigy 4x to get it right. i had to install everything or no go.. i still have all the broken gui's and media source that does not function. all the other stuff seems to work and no sound problems..but gees its so incompetent and inconsistent and ridiculous..

i will not buy creative again. but i do like my plat pro.. my guess is creative did this on purpose in hopes we will spend more money on new more modern stuff..no thanks. if my audigy goes south on me.im going back to on board.. i might any way.. i get better game performance with the on board which it should be the other way around.. creative has so much garbage running in the back ground it kills any benefits of a added sound card.. ya i can turn alot of it off so not to boot. but its still like 3 or 4 things running.. i stopped 4 or 5 others.. its crazy..

i just thought it odd you guys have no main creative thread..ha ha many folks hate creative and protest and boycott them..maybe thats why no kind of honors in adding a creative thread. ha ha its funny.

i was kind of in hope to read some on creative stuff. read of problems and fixes etc. but i will survive

I guess some folks never have trouble with Creative, I have never liked them. Like you say, too much junk loading in and running in the backround. My Realtek onboard works just fine for me. No hassles at all, everything works, like the jack sensing. Plug anything into any jack you want and tell Realtek what you plugged in and it just works. Keeps me from having to remember what color is what.

quite forum here. dont seem like a lot of folks. a multi tech site and has a gaming section. ha ha seems like 1 guy mrchris set up the gaming area..he seems to have started most of the different game threads. and most of the games or type i like too.

if i have any system related problems. i think i have a new place to seek help..

Yup, pretty quiet around here. When the Forums migrated to TK from VIA, a lot of the "regulars" never followed. And the Tech section is definately not as busy as VIA was. Oh well. It is what it is.

At least there is the "Controlled Chaos" section where you can discuss things that are Taboo at the Abit Forums. Chris.

Yes indeed the latest drivers for Audigyes has problems ,the computer boots slower and some panels, like the one with Equalizer ,is in an unfinished state.The driver doesnt have WHQL and looks and behaves like a beta.
My advise is to use the driver from octomber 2006 ,its a good driver.
I always make back ups of drivers just in case.
As for Realtek the latest chips are ok but drivers are problematic too.You can t really compare a Creative with a Realtek in audio parameters ,i really dont feel the need of hearing music with Realtec chips after using Audigy 2 and Xtreme Music.As for games Creative is in lead in any case.
Creative drivers lately are in bad shape ,because they struggle to force us buy new sound cards,but bad support for older cards may have the oposite effect.

From the Audigy2 to the XFI I have never had any significant issues with Creative drivers. I had some popping sounds with BF2142 and the XFI, but that was fixed with updated drivers. The last several release drivers have been fine, no problems installing or playing games or music.

I had issues with sound quality on Audigy 2 value with CD drivers and the web drivers previous to octomber 2006 for XP.With Vista the sound quality was better but a lot of options were removed or not implemented.
With X-fi Xtreme Music i cant install the XP driver from CD in any way ,it gives me blue screen of death.The only one that works good is the one from march 2008,but it doesnt work so good with BF 2142 (with patch 1.5),it gives me a Creative driver module error with a blue screen.
As for the new one(although is already downloaded and archived from the day one)i havent tested it yet ,I'm waiting to see users reaction and maybe in case of serious issues with some game i will install it.Latelly new drivers doesnt seem to mean better also.

Audigy series have the advantage that they can be used, for listening music and even playing games,along with the KX Project drivers making this cards sound beatifull.When drivers are configured in the advanced mode they sound even better.Creative drivers for Audigy are farin sound quality compared to KX drivers,though newer one seem to have a plus even without the presence of the equalizer.

Agree with that, sometimes it almost seems to be just the same old song and dance. By the time you get a decent driver for these products, your already looking to upgrade to something newer.

It seems that Creative has removed ,from the downloading area the new unified XP+Vista drivers and placed back the older drivers .Finally they observed it was a beta
Ezeht get the good 2006 drivers ),they are for download and they will provide you the features you payed for under XP.

Just checked, they are still there, the 2.18.004
These just came out toward the end of July and add back in Dolby Digital and DTS for XFI users running Vista.
