Default Two NVIDIA partners defect

Quote:
The pain just keeps coming for Nvidia, this time in the partner space. Two of their key 'alpha' partners have just defected. It is nearly impossible to make money selling Nvidia cards right now, NV squeezed partners margins too much, and when the going got rough, prioritised its own margins over partner survival. This gave partners the choice of popping like a zit financially or moving to less green pastures.

Like Gainward before them, two of the largest ones, XFX and EVGA have defected. Want to bet Nvidia doesn't know yet? In any case, partners leaving a company like rats leaving a sinking ship is never a good sign, lets see what happens in the coming months when the pain really piles on at NV.

Saw that yesterday, this is what I wonder about: "The really interesting part is who they defected to, and it isn't ATI. Paperwork has been signed though, and it is a done deal." Who else is there but ATI? Could it be VIA?

On another note, VIA and nVidia are partnering to make mainboards with VIA CPU's and nVidia graphics. That should be interesting. Chris.

Remember, its The Inquirer. There will be a little truth in there somewhere, hidden in the pile of dung The Inquirer typically adds to distort the truth beyond recognition.

NVIDIA announced over a week ago that it reached an agreement to let Intel do SLI on the X58 chipset by using NVIDIA's NF200 SLI chip, just like Intel is doing with Skulltrail (Seaburg). At this time, it is the only option for Nehalem + SLI, because NVIDIA does not have a chipset license for Nehalem, and it may be a while before it gets one.

It would follow that some hardware companies might actually want to have such a product in their line-up of SLI motherboards, rather than be stuck with AMD-only for SLI.

So yes, it is true that XFX and EVGA have "defected from NVIDIA", if that means "will offer the Intel X58 + NF200 SLI motherboards that NVIDIA officially announced over a week ago."

No, not at all. Both companies will continue support for their existing products and honor their warranties. I E-Mailed EVGA and XFX because I have both brands of cards in my rigs (one rig not in my Signature) and that was the response from both companies. Chris.

Unhappy EvGa and RED, Not going to Happen...

Consider the Source!!

EvGa is staying with Nvidia. Aug 5, 2008
===================

"August 5 2008: EVGA has made an official statement about this matter refuting the
claim made by AMD that EVGA approached it, instead EVGA claims it to be the other way around"

===================

Read about it here:: bit-tech.net | AMD: EVGA wanted to sell ATI cards (Updated)

The Inquirer will print anything, do not believe 90% of what they say.

Trash News Group for people who want to read something they want to happen.

"Find the RUMORS at the Inquirer" BS Plus+

It's a shame as rags like the Inquirer can put a company out of business without
said Company knowing a DAMN thing about it, LOL!!

I was just at the EvGa Website, you'd think they might mention
any plans of supporting ATI? Can't believe the crap people believe

First off they could never succeed with a Lifetime Warranty with ATI as they have a
higher failure rate, that you can believe!! How many HD2900's went belly up, got so
HOT they Blew, lots. Trust me.

Have nothing against ATI they are doing well and this will cause NV to do Better still.

Good for all, ATI fans and NV alike. Another thing that nobody seems to get is the
NEW ATI cards are just that, new. Meaning not been around long enough to start failing.

Not saying they will, but not saying they won't either.

Evga:: http://www.evga.com/default.asp Still up and Strong!!

RUMORS SUCK!!

Maybe I'm wrong, but I highly Doubt it!!

Blue

How long have these to Companies been fighting it out?

Answer, FOREVER. One card from ATI that's good in the last few years and everyone wants to jump ship, crazy

and there it is there...nobody really knows but EvGa, and they clearly say NV.

The Next GEN NV cards will be DDR5 and DX11 plus DX10.1, DX10. 55nm Wafer etc.

My GOD, the Rumors are just insane!!
