now what i need from you guys is what motherborad,and HD TV tuner card. shold i get, noting over $100 this will just be for HDTV, HDMoves, internet, IE, and so on,

I guess this is exactly where it lies the all concept of a true media center.

And i have asked myself similar question in here but unfortunately did not have many ansewers so far.

I would suggest you from my reading and understanding that in order to get the correct motherboard "the heart of the machine" u look around for some motherboard with HDMI/DVI/VGA/RCA Audio conection embedded, and at the same time something well supported in terms of drivers for Linux system, not to mention some motherboard with Embedded CPU with Hardware enconding and decoding for MPEG4 and MPEG2.

Once u find something with all this specs then please post here, as i have been looking for the same.

In order to watch satellite television in HDTV format i have been told in other place that Skystar2 HDTV PCI card works well under Ubuntu 8.0.4 and Mythbuntu 8.0.4
