Default Cooler master realpower 450W

As my previous thread is remove so i post this new thread. After doing a search, it seem like the following is a value for money psu, as i'm tight on budget, wouldn't want to get a expensive psu.

Through the review of viperlair.com, it seem to me this psu can OC and is stable. Would appreciate if u can give ur opinion and comment but no sacrastic remark pls.

As weekend is around the corner, was thinking of getting it this couple of day

You don't want to run any psu at more than 60 to70% of it's ACTUAL capacity for any amount of time due to longevity issues.

After the math is done:

70% 294 watts

60% 252 watts

Still sound like a good deal

Oso is it a must to have all the following feature when getting a psu for OC?

Quote:
Efficiency
The efficiency on the chart is based on specifications from manufacturers, actual results may vary.

Active PFC
Power Factor Correction (PFC) allows power distribution to operate at its maximum efficiency. The preferable type of PFC is Active Power Factor Correction (Active PFC) since it provides more efficient power frequency. Because Active PFC uses a circuit to correct power factor, Active PFC is able to generate a theoretical power factor of over 95%. Active Power Factor Correction also markedly diminishes total harmonics, automatically corrects for AC input voltage, and is capable of a full range of input voltage. Since Active PFC is the more complex method of Power Factor Correction, it is more expensive to produce an Active PFC power supply.

80 PLUS
The 80 PLUS performance specification requires power supplies in computers and servers to be 80% or greater energy efficient at 20%, 50% and 100% of rated load with a true power factor of 0.9 or greater. This makes an 80 PLUS certified power supply substantially more efficient than typical power supplies and creates a unique market differentiation opportunity for power supply and computer manufacturers.

SLI Ready
SLI stands for "Scalable Link Interface." SLI is a technology developed by NVIDIA that allows multiple graphics cards to work together in a single computer system. This enables faster graphics performance than what is possible with a single card. SLI Ready means this product supports SLI technology

Cooler Master Extreme power 600 is what I would be looking at.

As for all those power supply features, yes, they are ideally what you want but not totally necessary. Get the best you can afford! Chris.

Hey Chris, sorry for being noob in this area but isn't cooler master real power is better than the extreme? Have thought of getting the extreme before but if i'm not wrong they aren't true power psu, as compare to realpower?

I think the Extreme has power correction, the True does not. Chris.

If it allow me to OC and is like what u stated i wouldn't mind going for the extreme as it is slightly cheaper than the real, would be paying $98 SGD for a 450W realpower and i can get a 550W extreme at a price of $85 sgd, overall stability on OC is what i'm most concern about, wouldn't mind paying slighly higher
