Windows XP SP3 now available via Windows Update

Windows XP SP3 is finally here for those that use Windows Update, and here is a direct link to the stand-alone version of SP3 for x86 XP systems (32 bit). Thanks Bink! Neowin reader WindowsNT says: "There won't be a 64bit version until Windows Server 2003 hits SP3 since they share the same code base."


Windows® XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) includes all previously released updates for the operating system. This update also includes a small number of new functionalities, which do not significantly change customers’ experience with the operating system. I got it and installed it on the one machine I have running XP, it went flawlessly. Nothing new to notice, and anyone who believes it gives a performance boost is mistaken. Its basically all previous patches with some added features to networking.

@Scorpion1. The second wave of SP3 should be on right now and I am looking forward to the Dutch version.

Can you post the url to the page for the English version from which you can start the download? I can fiddle around and try to change the page to Dutch and hopefully catch the Dutch version.
