14 hr of solid and stable running of prime95, guess is time i'll let my rig has a good rest. Following are the result of my prime95

Though it run fine but the temp has yet to improve, would need to get a better third party hs as i'm using the intel stock hs to run the test

Jeese, Cas, shut that thing down! I would never let a CPU run at that temp that long, you may have already damaged it.

It's been stable for way long enough. Write down the settings, back off the over clock and get a better HSF. Also make sure you have enough air flow into and out of the case to remove the hot air. Chris.

Have already stop running prime95 and once i stop, the temp go down to 43, 44 which is almost half of the temp earlier on at 83-100. Do i really need to back off the OC as the temp rises due to the stress cause by prime95 and right now though is at 3.0ghz but judging from coretemp is at 41 & 42 for both cores

Well, I guess in the end it's up to you, the temps will rise again when you start to use the CPU for gaming or whatever. But now that it's prime stable you have a good over clock.

Sorry but I just never understood this obsession with over clocking that some folks seem to have. I watched a friend of mine, a few years back, ruin 3 CPU's and 4 video cards by clocking them until they literally fried! And over clocking voids your warranty, they can tell how a CPU or video card was fried.

If I want a fast CPU, I buy one that's fast, stock, same with a video card. But that's just me. Chris.

Understand, i'm just eager and excited when i'm able to get my rig to reach a certain clock and get it stable. I'm not really obessed with OC but who know infuture. U have a point there chris.
