Cool Looking for guru advise!...

I totally lost any contact with desktop pc's like 5 years ago, i been a laptop user for long time but now i want to build a really NICE desktop for gaming. Bad thing is that im not updated when it comes to motherboards, processors and graphic cards. I'm expecting to spend 800 dollars (i got the monitor already) anybody have or knows of a really good configuration for a price like that?...

Take a look at my specs and you will get a idea of a good gaming rig. The P35 chipset is a great product, you can find this in Gigabyte boards such as mine, or MSI, Abit and so on. The Intel quad Q6600 is a four core CPU, and can be had for around $220 USD. Two GB of quality memory can be had for less then $100 USD. The Crucial Ballistix that I have now sells for $55 USD on new Egg, and is top quality memory. A Nvidia 8800GT can be had for around $200 or less, top brands to look at are EVGA, BFG or XFX. Hard drives are also inexpensive, I prefer the Seagate Barracuda's which at 320GB sell for less then a $100 USD.
Most of all you want a good power supply, some choices would be Antec, Corsair, Thermaltake, OCZ.
All in all $800 can build a nice rig!!
Lastly you would need a case, so many to choose from, the Antec 900 top of the line but there are many other choices.
