Weather has gotten really hot lately, was getting some weird issues with my games. So i ran a stress test and temps peaked at around 64C! :O ive dropped it down to stock clocks for now , temps are about 57C so not too bad.
Gonna have to get myself an A/C or something hehe :P

Mike, are you using Riva Tuner, nTune or another program to monitor the temps of your card and, more importantly, to increase the speed of the fan on your card?
I've been using nTune and I usually have the fan set to 80%, higher at times depending on the game I'm running.
64c is not bad at all, really, you could be having issues other that video card. Chris.

2.8ghz for a quad 6600 is too low imo, it sure can let u crank higher than that. Though i'm using a E4500 C2D, i'm able to crank it till the following

I had mine up to 3GHZ without voltage, I could obviously get higher if I was to add voltage. Jomo has his up to 4GHZ, but he has water cooling while I only have air. I'm more then happy with 2.8-3GHZ and I don't have to worry about voltages and burning out my CPU.

Yeah I was pretty pleased with that OC, thats a 600MHZ increase running on a 1333 FSB. Pretty sweet!! Max temps during the winter and fall was about 52-53C, now that it is hotter it started to go up to 60-62c. Thus why I turned it down to be safe.

Yeah i use RivaTuner to set the fan speed to 99% (max) but its not the grpahics card that im worried about.

I tried going to 3Ghz but it crashed 10 minutes into stress testing =/ I really dont wanna be adding voltage especially now with the hot weather and such. I doubt ill ever have the CPU cores at 100% load for more then a minute in everyday use anyway (besides stress testing), while gaming it only reaches 40C, but still better to be safe then sorry imo.
Btw, does having more RAM effect the overclocking ability of your system?

This post is more directed at Jomo because he seems to have good experience. Ive basically done some more OCing , made it to 3.4Ghz without upping the Voltage. The BIOS states that my RAM frequency is 1009Mhz (im yet to up it to 1066), but then CPU-Z says its 500Mhz :S
