Thats what i thought..but a friend of mine sed that the CPU keeps some sort of Cache memory thing where it records the recent Frequencies...i think its a load of rubbish but still.
Ambient temps are HIGH today which really doesnt help. Do you guys ever use any Overclocking applications / programs to make it easier for monitoring temps. or do you just do it straight through BIOS ? One alst thing, ive read taht the G0 steping chip, liek the one i have , tolerates temps up to 71C but should i still draw the line at 60C under 100% load ?

I was told by a good freind of mine who is very knowledgeable when it comes to overclocking that 60c is about the cutoff. Anything above you start to take risks. As for monitoring temps I just use Core Temp.

LOL! I knew you couldnt resist!!
Yes, OC through the bios is the best way. For me to hit 3GHZ I use a FSB of 334 and use the divider to set my ram at 802. Afterwards run Prime95 for 30min to stress test with core temp also on to monitor your temps.

If you start pushing over 60c, then you may want to leave your OC where it is.

Yer fair enough. but most ive reached is 50C at 2.8 Ghz . Would 0.2 Ghz increase give me a 10C temp icnrease?

I hit around 58-59c, its really the warmer months that you really need to pay close attention.
