"Bragging" about hardware 2
Ah well, it still runs pretty much every thing I need, like FEAR, Oblivion, NFS: Most Wanted and so on. Considering I bought the CPU and mobo 2,5 years ago, it's still running fine
I'm waiting for the Intel Conroe now and also see what AMD's answer is before buying a new computer. I'm also waiting for Vista. I AM buying a HTPC soon

Sisko, you spend more time waiting for hardware then people waiting at the bus stop!! LOL!!

It seems Sisk0 has no plans of switching to AMD well users preference.

I have the intention to buy a new computer next year with the best CPU at that moment, whether that's AMD or Intel. But so far, Conroe seems too good to be true. There have been more reviews from renowned sites FYI kilroy besides that demo Intel themselves gave. At 2.4GHz the Conroe is in most areas faster than a AMD X2 4800+, clocked at 2,7GHz instead of 2,4 (socket AM2) AND was able (although they figured that out by accident) to be passively cooled. (they forgot to attach the CPU fan )
Although this test is anything but conclusive, it shows the potential. Ofcourse both rigs were not yet optimized with the best drivers and support, so either one could still have more power in the end. So I woun't take this test as a conculsive result. Only when they are both ready for release it will be easy to compare.
But in this test, the Intel chip used DDR2 667, where DDR2 800MHz will be supported. Also this 2,4GHz conroe is rumoured to cost just around 315 dollars.
All in all, whoever wins, it's good for the competition

Why don't we have a PCMark2004 topic. 'Cause then I could compete a little .
