Nvidia Beta Forceware 177.79
Nvidia has released a new Beta Forceware 177.79 driver for Windows XP and Vista. These drivers are only for the GeForce 8, 9 and 200 series graphics cards. These drivers add support for the GeForce 9500GT and 9800GT cards, and contain a range of fixes primarily for GeForce 9 and 200 series cards, as well as performance improvements. |

In Nvidia case the betas look sometimes even better than the WHQL ones.This ones(at least the 177.66 did) along with Nvidia PhisiX driver and a 8800 GT and up card are able to run PhisiX mod for UT 3.
177.xx fixes stuttering in some unreal engine based games ,observed under XP.Rainbow Six:Raven Shield runs now flawless without hiccups.On the other hand i observed a new bug,a slow motion bug that appears when the game goes over 450 FPS, while playing Hitman 2 along with the Vertical Sinc forced OFF.
177.xx seem to be more powerfull than the precious ones being rewritten almost completely.

So far I have found the 177.19 to be the best yet, good performance, zero problems. It will be interesting how Phyx works with the 8800 series, guess we will find out on the 5th.  |
